The earliest interest in birdwatching can be traced back to the late 18th century\u00a0and was fueled by a desire for absorbing beauty rather than imbibing food. The phrase “bird watching”, for the record, appeared for the first time as the title of the book “Bird Watching” by the British ornithologist Edmund Selous in 1901.<\/p>\n
